A vision board is a powerful tool, lady. You may have heard of these as dream boards, mood boards, or goal boards. Whatever you’d like to call it, it can certainly help you manifest your pregnancy.
It is a visual representation of your intentions and goals, designed displayed in a way that sparks emotion in your soul. And boy, does it ever super-charge your progress.
I actually do some sort of board quite often to stay in check with where my life is headed. It’s very cool when those things come to pass!
If you ask me, my vision board was one of the most useful strategies I implemented for manifesting my little guy. I put so much thought, emotion, and effort into each image. By the time I saw those two pink lines for the first time, it felt like I already knew he was there.

By putting time and consideration into what you want your life to look like, you’re sending a crystal-clear message to the universe that you are allowing it to happen. You are focused and ready for all of the blessings headed your way.
So how can cutting out pictures and gluing them to a poster help you? I’m so excited to show you!
It Provides Clarity.
Bringing a shiny new person into the world should not be taken lightly. It is the single most amazing miracle, in my opinion, and should be respected as such.
We often get stuck in the thought pattern of “it’s not working…. It’s not WORKING!!!” We sometimes lose sight of why we want to grow our families. Spoiler alert: Not an effective approach to any goal.
As you create your board, think about why you want to have a baby. (Is it because all your friends are doing it or it’s next on life’s checklist? If you’re here, I highly doubt it, but double-check your intentions.)
Having a dedicated display that brings you back to the reasons behind wanting a child is super influential to your mind and your heart. It helps to keep your eyes on the prize, for all the right reasons.
It helps connect all the areas of your life.
There are so many areas of our lives that grab our attention. However, when trying to conceive, it takes over every thought you have. (I know, I’ve been there too, girl.) Use this to your advantage, because thoughts are powerful.
Consider this- what areas of life would a baby significantly impact?
Your body?
Your home?
Your finances?
Your career?
Your adventures?
Your future plans?
Yep. All of these. A vision board, alongside your baby-obsessed mind, will help you to put a plan in place to prepare all of these areas for your new addition. This is also an important asset for living “as-if” baby is already coming. For an in-depth explanation of living “as-if,” check out this post!
It inspires action.
Focusing on the goal of having a baby is wonderful. What’s even better is knowing exactly what you have to do to get there. A super clear vision board works like a planner. By focusing on the images and words you decide on, you get to design your dream life and the action steps to achieve it.
Think of it like this. You know you have to take care of your body once you’re pregnant, right? What can you be doing right now to be the healthiest version of yourself once your new wombmate shows up?
What are your financial goals to prepare for baby’s arrival? What do you have to do to get there?
Looking at these images every day programs your subconscious brain to look for ways to take action, creating a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle that’s baby ready, baby!
It gives you permission to let go.
One of the most difficult parts of baby-makin’ is the constant feeling of, “what am I doing wrong?” It’s hard to just relax (*barf*) when there could be a possible solution still out there. Something you haven’t explored, done, or tried.
When I first started my mindfulness manifestation journey, I often got the following response-
“Jessi, no amount of pictures that you put on a piece of cardboard is going to help you control a natural biological process. Just let it go, and it’ll happen in due time.”
However, that’s exactly what I was doing by creating a vision board. I had a solid plan in place to live and enjoy my best life, take action, and to be the best mom I could before our baby was even conceived.
I was ready. All I had to do was let go, and wait for my son to come.
(Another spoiler alert: then he did… exactly one month after my vision board was complete.)
It reconnects you with positive emotions again.
I know I speak about a sensitive subject and the heartbreak that befalls you when you’re trying for a baby is real, y’all. It is so easy to stay stuck in the pits of despair day after day, believing you don’t deserve to be a mother.
Listen.
That’s a buncha crap.
You are allowed to be excited and hopeful about growing your family again. You have my permission, for what it’s worth.
A vision board is full of images and words that should make you feel absolutely giddy that you’ll be seeing those two pink lines or holding your baby for the first time. When you look at your board, you should feel that rush that sends chills down your spine and makes you get butterflies. That’s the goal, here. That’s what makes this work.
I’ll leave you with this golden nugget (especially for you science-lovin’ ladies out there). According to Dr. David R. Hamilton PhD:
"The stress response evolved in humans to give us the ability to fight or flee when faced with danger. Chemicals including cortisol and adrenaline help kick start the body, pushing blood towards the major muscles to give you strength. But the exact same stress response kicks in when you imagine danger, also producing cortisol and adrenaline and pushing blood around the body. The same chemistry is produced regardless of whether the danger is real or imagined. What does all this mean in real life? It means that what you imagine to be happening is actually happening as far as your brain is concerned."
Dr. David R. Hamilton PhD.
Your brain will follow along with whatever you keep feeding it, as it quite literally cannot tell the difference between what is actually real, and what you imagine.
So get to visualizing! Pour your heart into this, and put it somewhere where you get to stare at it and feel good about your journey every day.
